Yes, shocking but true: I do occasionally write things longer than a vignette! Well, okay, as yet there's only the two, but I'm pretty fond of them, and given time, I may bring them some more friends to play with. For now, here's two CazQ stories over 20K (gasp!).
You know what the best motivation is? Feedback!
The Furious Winter
Rated R. S, MSR, post-col, ladlings of A. "A cry of Absence, Absence in the heart,/ and in the wood the furious winter blowing." (28K)
Seeing In The Dark (download whole story as a zipped text file - 74K)
Part I: Devil's On The Loose (HTML format - 28K)
Part II: Seeing In The Dark (HTML format - 64K)
Part III: The Floodtide (HTML format - 83K)
Rated R. S, MSR, post-col, heavy A. This is a prequel story for 'The Furious Winter' - I advise reading this one second, though. Kinda like watching 'The Phantom Menace' after the original trilogy so it all makes sense <g>. "What was it he had said once? 'The future is here, and all bets are off'? Something grand and nonsensical like that. As it had turned out, he had been so, so wrong. The real future had arrived not so very long after he said that, one freezing, grey day in January, more than a year ago now. The day the first ships arrived."
Rated PG. S, MSR, SA. "In the midst of life, we are in death". Death can take someone from you at a moment's notice. What remains afterwards is the effort to learn how to live life without its accustomed center. (27K)
